Save Johanna’s Life-A Single Mom’s Plea to Stay With Her Son

My name is Johanna Lee Cerna, and I am reaching out with a heavy but hopeful heart. I am a single mother in Central Visayas, Philippines, trying my best every day to raise my 13-year-old son despite facing the toughest challenge of my life.

A while ago, I was diagnosed with diabetes and now, I am fighting stage 5 chronic kidney disease. My only options are lifelong dialysis or, if I am fortunate enough, a kidney transplant. Each day is a struggle—physically, emotionally, and financially. While I try to stay strong for my son, the reality is that the cost of my ongoing treatments and medications is overwhelming.

More than anything, I want to be there for my child—to see him grow, to give him love, guidance, and stability. But with mounting hospital bills and the need for regular medication, I am scared I might not be able to provide him with the life he deserves.
