Joseph Grover, 39, of Vero Beach, FL is the father of 2 adorable and equally charismatic boys, the eldest brother of 4, and the oldest living member of the Grover family - well-known, rural New Jersey, blueberry farmers. Joe is also a deeply loved friend to many, many people and a valued member of his community. Our friend Joe needs our help...and fast!
On Monday morning, January 15, 2018 Joe was in bed suffering from an intense migraine. Around noon, he tried to take a shower but suddenly became dizzy and lost control of the right side of his body. He barely managed to get out of the shower and call for help. When the paramedics arrived, they suspected that he was having a stroke. However, after a team of specialists analyzed his bloodwork, CAT scan, MRI, and spinal tap results, and monitored his vitals for 24 hours a day for 4 days, they discovered that he had a small bleed in the back of his brain, but they do not know what caused it. And although they also discovered that he had arrhythmia, a weak heart, and high LDL cholesterol, the doctors could not explain why he had suffered from stroke-like symptoms. So after administering medicine to correct his arrhythmia and manage his pain, he was discharged without a diagnosis and only a referral to follow up with a primary care provider.
Joe is known for being an extremely gregarious and charismatic person who is always zipping from one thing to the next. His full-time job is serving and bartending at Outback Steakhouse in Vero Beach, FL but in his off time, he is a weekly volunteer at his oldest son's school, a musician in 2 different local bands, a photographer, and a concert organizer, promoter, and sound technician for hundreds of rock bands for a popular downtown venue called The Stamp Bar.
Since leaving the hospital, Joe has suffered from significant pain radiating from behind his right eye, through the back of his head, and down his neck and shoulders. He is weak and not sleeping. He cannot be on his feet for more than 5 minutes at a time. Because of his undiagnosed condition, he cannot go to work, or even drive. He is bedridden and miserable.
Most unfortunately, Joe has no health insurance, no savings, and no family with the means to help him pay for his 5 different prescriptions, follow up medical care, food, gas, rent, child support, and other essential expenses. Joe needs financial assistance as quickly as possible. Please consider donating to his fundraiser to help Joe survive, heal and get back to his life adventure....so we can ALL breathe easy again!
