Jimmy Glenn was, and remains, a New York City treasure. His bar, now run by his family after his tragic passing due to COVID-19 in 2020, is now under threat of eviction by the Durst Organization. This lease was (allegedly) acquired due to Jimmy saving an aging Joseph Durst and his wife from being robbed in early 1970's New York, upon which Mr. Durst expressed gratitude by giving Mr. Glenn the lease to the building which Jimmy's Corner now occupies. The bar itself is also a New York City treasure, where people from every single background come to enjoy cold, cheap drinks, lively shenanigans, and top-notch old school motown, rock and jazz music from their jukebox. This bar is an institution of inclusiveness, serendipity and nostalgia which must remain. One of the last beacons of old New York and its grit and generosity that Jimmy so embodied and must not be taken away from us. My name is Matthew Knudsvig, and thank you for reading (and maybe donating!).
