Save Jemima: Emergency Surgery needed
Two weeks ago, Jemima, my 12 1/2 year old cat of 10 years, began acting ill, so I took her to the vet to get her checked out. Unfortunately, during the urinalysis ultrasound, the vet located a mass above her bladder that is likely cancerous. The ultrasound machine at this vet was not a full-scope one (no diagnostic capability), so she referred us to a veterinary hospital to get an ultrasound done.
Ultrasound appointments are three weeks out. Meanwhile, Jemima is not eating. When she does eat, it is a very small amount. She is losing weight and muscle tone, and needs to be seen ASAP before she wastes away waiting on an appointment. This requires a trip to the vet hospital's emergency department, which is going to cost a bundle.
Jemima still has fight in her and deserves a chance to get a diagnosis and treatment before she gets too ill waiting for an appointment. She is normally a very spunky girl and eating is one of her favorite pasttimes. She has been turning from her favorite foods, and even leaving her favorite treats untouched.
She's my best friend, and deserves the opportunity to fight through this. I adopted her in 2014 and she has been an integral part of my family ever since.
Will you please consider helping me get her the treatment she needs? Every minute she goes unchecked counts.
