Hi everyone, this is our cat, Jazzy. She's about 5 years old, we adopted her during the COVID pandemic in 2020 when she was a kitten.
Jazzy has always been an odd cat. I know that's what everyone says about their cats, but she really is different. She loves playing with aluminum foil balls. Any time she hears the foil being rolled out in the kitchen, she comes running in. We crumple up a good bit of foil, and throw it down the hallway or across the house, and she loves chasing it. She'll even bring it back to us.
She's a pretty smart kitty as well! We used to keep the box of treats in a drawer in the kitchen, but she figured out how to pull the drawer open AND pull the lid off of the container.
She's always loved water too. In the morning when my mom is getting ready, Jazzy will rub her cheek on the faucets until they're turned on. She also has a fascination with the shower.
I'd say one of the most odd things about her is that she's super friendly with strangers. If you've ever visited our house, you probably had her come up and greet you, rubbing on your legs or reaching up for scritches.
She's been throwing up a lot the past few days, and when she got an X-ray earlier today, it shows a blockage in her small intestine. We don't know what it is, but she has to get surgery.
The blood work & X-ray already cost about $600, and the surgery itself is going to be $1800. I know we're all going through a rough time economically because of all the stuff going on in the world right now.
My family won't be able to spend another $2000 to help her, it's not feasible now. It's either I figure out some way to make enough money to help significantly, or she'll be put to sleep.
Even just a little bit would mean the world to us. She deserves a longer life than this.
Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
-Joshua
