Save Jazz's Home & Businesses

Time is of the essence, so let's get straight to the point: Jazzy needs our help!

This girl has persevered through personal turmoil, undergone spinal surgeries and foot surgeries, caregiving for her father full time after an accident in 2021, and has been a single mom to her son Javen for 14 years.

All the while she has been the definition of a survivor:
  • She has worked for the past 19 years as a barber, winning multiple "Best of the West" awards for Best Barber
  • For 10 of those years, she has owned Rogue Haircut & Shave Parlour, which she started herself and has won multiple "Best of the West" awards for Best Barbershop
  • 4 years ago she started a natural product line and has been the owner & product developer there at Rogue Mafia Grooming Company

Jazz has not only survived her hardships but flourished. None of it was easy, but all of it was worth it.

Even during Covid, she managed to not only stay afloat, but also worked tirelessly to advance her knowledge of chemistry to expand her product line, took business classes, and invested a great deal of time and money in building a proper lab with all the necessary supplies & equipment she would need to run a fully operational product line when it was time to reopen the barbershop full time.

She built her barbershop & product line up from nothing and has worked tirelessly to maintain and grow her businesses so her future will be secure.

And just as the final goal was in sight — to own the property that not only houses her and her son but also where both of her businesses are established— it’s all at risk.

Long story short: In January, her landlord suddenly reneged on an agreement they had, whereby he would sell Jazz this property in 2025 and has been taking steps to sell the property out from underneath her and list it for sale as soon as Wednesday, February 8, leaving her and her son in danger of losing everything.

We cannot let this happen.

Now she must move quickly to secure the property when she was not yet positioned to make such a major financial move so soon after building the lab, seeing as their agreement was not for another 2 years.

We need to raise $35,000 to secure her $55,000 down payment & closing costs for this particular loan that relies on one year of income, instead of two. Pandemic unemployment payments don’t count as income, which is why this loan situation is precarious. She has only been able to come up with $20,000 so far on such short notice.

If she gets approved for the loan, because of the specific nature of the situation, she will be paying about double the interest than usual AND will need a MUCH bigger down payment than a normal loan would to secure the amount.

This is where we come in!

This GoFundMe is our Hail Mary pass. If we make this happen, Jazz and Javen will keep their home and she will keep her businesses. Every last dime counts here - no donation is too small or too large!

If she does NOT secure this property, she will use the GoFundMe funds for the large raise in rent on BOTH her home and business that will be coming her way after the building is sold to a new owner. This way she will not have to lose her home to keep her businesses for continued income. This will give Jazz a safe space to work and live without disrupting her son’s life, and afford her the time needed to come up with a new plan for their future.

As a thank you for your contribution, Jazz is offering a $10 appreciation gift card for every $100 donated! So for $200+ donated you will recieve a $20 gift card, and for $300+ donated you will recieve a $30 gift card, and so forth. Gift cards may be used on both the website and in the barbershop. If you would like to take advantage of this thank you gift, be sure to include your email in the note section of your donation.

SHARING IS CARING, so please SHARE this fundraiser with every person you know who might be willing to support a single mom in need. Let's help save Jazz and Javen's home, and the businesses she has so tirelessly devoted herself to. This situation is incredibly time senstive, so let's come together and make this HAPPEN!
