Save Jammy from kidney failure
Donation protected
Hi my name is Brenda, one of my good friends dogs is in need of veterinary care to flush her kidneys from toxic buildup. She needs to be hospitalized for a minimum of 3 days. She was told it will cost a min of $2000. Any help no matter how little would be extremely grateful. Please keep Jammy in your thoughts

Hi Lynn, We have diagnosed Jammy with kidney (renal) disease. I have attached an information sheet that gives you some information on renal disease. THere are several different causes of kidney disease (age related, infection, Leptospirosis, stones, cancer etc). We can further test her to try to find out why she has abnormal kidney function. Options would be Leptospirosis testing (we would need blood and urine for that test, cost is approx $180),and abdominal ultrasound of the kidneys (cost is approx $250). In order to get her feeling better and flushing out the toxins that have built up in her body due to her kidneys not filtering properly we would recommend hospitalizing her for intravenous fluids and medications. This usually takes 2-3 days. The goal would be to get those kidneys working better with this treatment, however, depending on the cause of her kidney disease, it is possible that despite treatment her kidneys continue to deteriorate. This may happen a few weeks after treatment or several months after treatment. We will send you an estimate for the intravenous fluid therapy with medications in a separate email. Please let us know if you have any questions. Thank you, Dr. Sabrina
