Save James from FIP
Donation protected
James and his sister Jessie were saved last summer from a hoarding situation in an apartment in Toronto, with other 150 cats.
They ended up in the news and different websites .

A very sad and troubled beginning, but they recovered very fast.

We adopted them when they were still babies, after the loss of our sweet tortie Moss, who passed away at the age of 16 (she was The Unimpressed Cat ).
James was initially diagnosed with Feline Coronavirus, not unusual for cats who experienced hoarding situations, but unfortunately this turned now into FIP, with fluids in the chest cavity (so the wet kind).

FIP, feline infectious peritonitis, is an important disease of domestic cats. Although FIP is not a particularly common disease, it is important because once a cat develops the disease, the outcome is almost invariably fatal.
While we would have never thought to ask for help, trying to cure our cat Moss few month ago already had a major impact on our finances (she developed a rare condition called Chylothorax) and while FIP is considered a hopeless incurable disease, there are now some drugs that could help James.
The problem is that they are not FDA approved… and they are super expensive.
But at this point, we are willing to try everything to give James a chance to live.

After reading pages and pages of articles, very different opinions regarding the disease and these new drugs, we decided to start the treatment with Mutian, that seems to offer the best chances.
We already purchased the first pills, but we are facing a 3 months process that will cost over $8,000 in total, just for the drugs.
So any help could make the difference and give James a chance.

Every dollar we won’t use for James treatment will be given back to the FIP community, to fund other families and cats in need of financial support.
This is James and Jessie’s Instagram account.
Their story already had a tough beginning.
Please help us to avoid a heartbreaking ending.
Thank you,
Massimo & Zylees.
And Jessie!
