Save Jake and Shaneice's First Home

Donation protected
In August of 2019, Jake and I (Shaneice) bought our first home in Sanford MI. We have been settling in and just as we were getting everything the way we wanted it, tragedy struck. Our home was flooded due to the Edenville  Dam Failure. Our garages were 2 foot deep in water and our home was just under a foot. We are blessed that ourselves and our pets were evacuated and safe but we lost a large amount of our belongings. We are lucky to have a place to stay while we start this very long journey to repairing our home. We are raising funds to replace our hot water heater, stove, fridge and material things such as our couch and beds. We have stripped the home to allow it to dry out and will need to replace the drywall and all flooring throughout the home. It seems we may need to re-wire before we are able to get our power turned back on. Our entire kitchen and bathrooms had to be torn out and we will have to replace cupboards and vanities. We never thought that we would flood and did not have flood coverage. FEMA will hopefully be able to assist in time but have not yet opened to residents to apply. We are asking for any help that you may be able to give. Any extra funds raised will be donated to help our new hometown of Sanford rebuild.
