Supporting Jackson’s surgery
Donation protected
On Friday, September 13th, I took Jackson to the vet because of some abnormal swelling around his chest and very heavy breathing. Some X-rays showed signs of a mass in his chest which was causing fluid to build up around his lungs, making it difficult for him to breathe. We were sent to an emergency clinic so he could be hooked up to oxygen and given a closer look by the oncologist. After several tears, appointments, and bills, Jackson was diagnosed with Thymoma Cancer (cancer of the thymus - an organ that lies in the upper chest under the breastbone, and is part of the lymph system). The treatment for this kind of cancer is surgery, where they will remove the mass completely. Prognosis is very good with thymoma and patients can live years with treatment.
I rescued Jackson when he was a puppy, just 10 weeks old. He has been with me for over 10 years now and is like a son to me. We have been through so much together. Jackson is one of the happiest, loving, laid back dogs I have ever met. He loves looking out the window, giving kisses, people watching, traveling, sleeping, and peeing on trees (even when he runs out).
Any kind of help to pay for this surgery is greatly appreciated!
With love,
Abby, aka "Jackson's mom"
