SAVE INNOVATION YOUTH CENTRE - URGENT HELP NEEDED!

Innovation-Youth Centre is organizing this fundraiser to benefit Innovation Youth Centre.

You can make a difference by donating today to Innovation Youth Centre and save it from closing on the 1st of March 2024 due to government funding ending.

IYC has serviced over 500 young people in its 22 months of services at cost-effective funding of 750K annually, IYC is a far more cost-effective youth service compared to other Youth Services that operate at higher costing of on average 1M plus annually that meet fewer KPIs.

Why we need your donation!

Over 500 young people will be impacted if the service closes creating a very high waiting list for other services to receive vital support including counseling, case management, personal development programs and activities. Thus, IYC closing will create a major service void in the community.
IYC is a highly valued community organisation that has been endorsed by all tiers of government (federal, and state government) as well as service users and their families, local police, and other community organisations.IYC is the only Youth Centre in the City of Whittlesea and young people don’t have another youth space like IYC to attend.
IYC only had 22 months to set up and operate its service in the community, due to a short funding contract from the government. IYC therefore needs more time to build and set up more revenue streams, for example, to expand our newly established NDIS service.
Over 30 partnerships with community organsations will be impacted by working with IYC.
If IYC needs to cease operations on the 1st of March 2024, all the resources from the youth centre that were purchased through funding will not be in use creating a huge gap for disadvantaged youth in the local community. This is a grievous waste of excellent resources that will instead be stored.
A plethora of tertiary training organisations will be impacted, as IYC has assisted over 30 students in completing their work placement. Students from disciplines such as mental health peer work, youth work, community services, counseling, social work, and psychology have all reported great experiences at IYC. 90% of student placements have gone on to gain employment in the industry.
For our small organisation to maintain full operations, we are reliant on government funding and donations from the community to continue operating our services.
