Save our independent cinema in Suffolk
Donation protected
Hi, we are the King Street Cinema, the underground cinema in Ipswich's Corn Exchange. We have been operating as a cinema since 1975, bringing international, cult and classic cinema to Suffolk audiences and communities for almost 50 years. This year we find ourselves needing to replace our old digital projector, which is one step away from completely failing us. Our engineering firm has done as much as it possibly can to keep the projector running, but we're at a crunch point now.
Our goal is to raise half the total cost of a new projector - the total cost is in the region of £36,000 - so that we can continue to serve the audiences we have served for the last half-century, delivering foreign language films to the region's diverse cultures.
Simply put, without a projector we have no cinema, so we're working extremely hard to ensure this beloved independent venue can continue to exist.
We can't do this without your help, so we're asking those who can offer donations of any amount to help if you can. We are very aware that money is tight for all of us right now, and we understand that donating may be a luxury for many, but any amount, no matter how small, will go a long way to securing our future - we want to be here for you for another 50 years.
We are grateful for any donation you can offer to see us reach this goal.
With best wishes
