Imlik needs a second chance let's save his life

It has been three months now since Imlik was diagnosed with a heart problem known as TRANSPOSITION OF GREAT VESSEL (ARTERIES) which he was born with and has been suffering from for 9 months now. Imlik is currently under the care of a cardiologist at the JAKAYA KIKWETE CARDIAC INSTITUTE clinic at the MUHIMBILI NATIONAL HOSPITAL in Tanzania. Imlik needs urgent surgery (ARTERIAL SWITCH OPERATION) to correct the defect because his life expectancy may only be a few months if the corrective surgery is not performed argent.

Imlik’s surgery in Tanzania, it is impossible so far, apart from the financial challenge but also the issue of the lack of experienced doctors to perform this surgery, the lack of modern medical equipment and technology has led doctors to delay and wait for Imlik's surgery until he reaches a weight of 10 kg or 2 years old which is different in other countries.

And the very difficult challenge that Imlik's parents we are currently facing, is continuing to receive information about the deaths of children who were in the same ward where Imlik was in Hospital. From January 2025 to March 2025, more than 7 children that we know have lost their lives due to lack of cardiac treatment in our National Hospital.

Imlik's parents, we have made various efforts to ensure that our only child is given treatment as soon as possible and even met with a team of cardiologists from ISRAEL where we had to travel from Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar to meet with them and after medical checkup, they recommended that the child should be taken to ISRAEL for urgent surgery.

Imlik's parents, we have also successfully sent Imlik's Medical Reports to some hospitals in INDIA and all hospitals in INDIA after the Medical Report checked by the cardiologists have also recommended that Imlik to be transferred to INDIA for urgent surgery.

Imlik is still experiencing the challenges of low blood pressure, low weight, rapid breathing (Tachypnea), sometimes he fails to breathe well, has a blue color, delayed stooling, and Rapid Heart Rate (Tachy cardia) all of these are bad symptoms that indicate the loss of his life.

The cost of performing this ARTERIAL SWITCH OPERATION varies depending on the country, the quality of the hospital, the experience of the doctors, medical equipment and the technology that will be used is from EURO 9,000/= to EURO 15,000/= which is a lot of money for us (Imlik's parents), please join us to save life of this child because statistics show that many children who have undergone this surgery can live a normal and long happily life.
