COURT DATE JULY 1ST
My name is Karin, and I am fighting to save Riverside chalet at Harveys Towans, Hayle, Cornwall from demolition by Developers.
Many will know this iconic, little building which has stood at the entrance of the UNESCO port of Hayle for over 100 years.
It has been in the Buchanan family for 70 years, serving first as the 'Tearooms and Store' for the workers at the Power Station in the 1950s and later as Anchor Pottery in the 1970s.
John Buchanan was a prominent local potter, Guild of Master Craftsmen, and a member of the St Ives Society of Artists. Sadly he passed away at his beloved Riverside on Sept 9th, 2020, bequeathing his home to me in his Will, to safeguard its future.
Since then, I have been in a long-running battle with solicitors, enduring a huge amount of stress but spurred on by over 16,000 of you, who are willing me to stay strong and stand up to the Developer.
At the last court Hearing the Judge gave merit to my case and adjourned for a 2hr court Hearing on July 1st. Next time round, I will have to have representation and be prepared for escalating costs, but feel this is the right thing to do. I am fighting to save Riverside but in doing so, could potentially protect the whole of Harveys Towans from future development.
Lots of people have asked if they can help, and now is that time... I had hoped everyone who had signed might donate £1, but the system will not allow less than £5, which is asking a lot in these difficult times. (Please remember to slide the tip link to zero too)
Any donation would be a huge help towards Court fees currently at £8,700 run up by solicitors who are basing their defence on a fraudulent document. Citizens Advice say I have a strong case for July 1st, but I should prepare for the worst and have funds in place. I would be happy to return any donations not needed or would donate to Help Ukraine Emergency Appeal.

Thank you so much for taking the time to keep up with me. I really couldn't do it without you,
