Save Iconic Artwork from Demolition

My artwork, Index for Contemplation, 2002, is to be Destroyed by the City of Austin Convention Center Demolition.
This is the fate of one of my most iconic art works, Index for Contemplation, 2002. I need your help and support to provide funds to save and restore this legacy artwork of mine. The Austin Convention Center, Austin Art in Public Places Program and the City of Austin plan to demolish, Index for Contemplation, 2002 with the Convention Center! starting April 13, 2025.
I need your help to support me in all the costs to save the legacy of Index for Contemplation, 2002. My artwork the central actor is color. The work is made of 233 elements that make this grand work, that spans 40ft high and 400 ft long.
On March 28 - 30, 2025 It will take my crew of seven, three days, one forty-foot scissor lift, one 26ft truck, packing materials, and later, some restoration, not to mention all the preparation. I believe it will cost me well over $20,000 to do this. I need all the help I can.
Public Art is so important, it is art for the people! However, the City of Austin has turned its back on a legacy artwork. As the niece of Aaron Douglas, founder of the Harlem Renaissance, this is another erasure of our beautiful web of our cultural history. Your contribution will aid in my effort to save my artwork in the hope it will be saved to live again.
