Help Ibrahim Reach His UK Master's (Scholarship Secured!)

An update on Ibrahim's journey: From seeking evacuation to pursuing his dreams.

My name is Ibrahim Aldalis, a civil engineer from Gaza determined to rebuild my future and contribute to a brighter tomorrow. After graduating with excellent grades from the Islamic University of Gaza with a BSc in Civil Engineering, my dream was to pursue postgraduate studies at a prestigious UK university.

Resilience in the Face of Conflict:

Since October 7th, 2023, the ongoing war in Gaza has brought unimaginable hardship and uncertainty to my homeland. Displaced from my home, I have been living in a crowded tent, facing daily struggles with limited access to electricity, internet, and essential supplies.

Despite these extraordinary challenges, I refused to let my aspirations fade. Fueled by hope and determination, I painstakingly prepared my application for the prestigious Copty Scholarship, offered by Queen's University Belfast (QUB) to a single Palestinian student each year.

A Dream Achieved, A New Challenge Arises:

Against all odds, I received the life-changing news: I was awarded the Copty Scholarship! This incredible opportunity grants me full tuition and accommodation to pursue my MSc in Environmental Engineering at QUB for one year.

While this scholarship is a dream come true, it doesn't cover the crucial expenses I face before even starting my studies. The ongoing war has severely impacted my family's financial situation, making it impossible for me to afford the necessary travel arrangements and initial living costs. Additionally, I am committed to supporting my family throughout my studies, and will be seeking part-time work alongside my academic commitments.

Turning to Your Kind Hearts:

Many of you generously supported my previous fundraiser, "Help evacuate Ibrahim's family from the conflict in Gaza," and I am incredibly grateful for the £420 raised. This new fundraiser aims to build on that generosity to help me overcome the financial hurdles of starting my new chapter in Belfast.

My goal is to raise $5,050 (equivalent to £4,000), which includes estimated GoFundMe transaction fees, to cover the following essential expenses:

  • UK Student Visa: $650
  • IHS (Immigration Health Surcharge) for One Year: $1500
  • Round-trip Flight from Cairo to Belfast: $700
  • Ground Transportation from Gaza to Ciro and to and from Airports: $500
  • Living Expenses in Belfast for the First Month: $500 (Until I can secure a part-time job)
  • Essential Supplies for Travel from Gaza to the UK: $1200 (As I'll be traveling with minimal belongings from my displacement tent)

Transparency, Legitimacy, and Direct Support:

To ensure transparency and secure handling of your generous donations, my relative, Malik Aldalis, General Manager at Energie Fitness Ipswich, will be managing this fundraiser. Malik will transfer the collected funds directly to me via Western Union, providing regular updates throughout the process.

Connect with Ibrahim:

I invite you to learn more about my background and aspirations by connecting with me on LinkedIn. I'm eager to answer any questions you may have.

Your Generosity, My Stepping Stone:

Every contribution, regardless of the amount, is deeply appreciated and brings me one step closer to rebuilding my future. By supporting my journey, you're not just helping a student – you're investing in the power of education, resilience, and hope in the face of adversity. Thank you for being a part of my story.
