For over three decades, Hope Wildlife Rescue in Corona, California has been a sanctuary for injured and orphaned wildlife. Founded and lovingly run by Cyndi and Bill, this small, home-based rescue has rehabilitated countless wild animals, from hawks, owls, and songbirds to raccoons, squirrels, skunks, and opossums. Every expense for over 30 years has come out of pocket, funded solely by Cyndi and Bill’s devotion to saving wildlife.
In recent years, Hope Wildlife has become the only licensed facility in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties specializing in the rescue and rehabilitation of ducks. Every spring and summer, Cyndi takes in 300–400 baby mallards, many just hours old — tiny, fuzzy lives abandoned after their mothers are injured or frightened away from backyards and swimming pools. Without Hope Wildlife, these ducklings would have no one to care for them.
A Crisis of Costs and Compliance
Recently Hope Wildlife and other wildlife rescue organizations were inspected by California Fish and Wildlife, which issued a list of facility repairs and updates required to maintain its license. These new standards, combined with rising food and medical costs, have pushed the rescue to a breaking point.
They have given everything — their time, energy, and savings — to help wildlife. But without community support, Hope Wildlife Rescue may have to close its doors forever.
How Your Donation Helps
Feed and medical supplies for hundreds of ducklings each year
Urgent facility repairs required by Fish and Game
Habitat improvements to ensure safe, healthy recovery spaces
Operating and care costs to keep Hope Wildlife Rescue open
Every duckling saved is a life returned to the wild — a symbol of hope for our local ecosystem. Hope Wildlife has quietly filled a gap that no one else does in our region. Its closure would mean hundreds of orphaned and injured mallards left without care or a second chance.
