Built in the 1800s and standing amidst a large cemetery is one of Grant Parish's oldest buildings. This old building has served Colfax in several capcities throughout its long history including jail, health unit, library and American Legion Home ....a trip by the cemetery to look at the remaining building is worth the time. It was listed in "Ripley's Believe It or Not", as the only health unit located in a cemetery. This truly unique and noteworthy location should be preserved and restored for future generations. The Grant Parish Preservation Board intends to purchase the property.  All money raised by this campaign will be used for  preservation of this historic landmark.
