Help Save HERO – Our Family’s Loyal Companion

Hi my name is Tammy Stanton from Michigan. I am starting this gofundme page for my daughter Samantha Tessier.

Our family is facing a heartbreaking situation. My daughter’s beloved dog, Hero, a 7-year-old who has been her constant companion, has suddenly fallen gravely ill. What we first thought was Lyme disease has now been diagnosed as Leptospirosis, a serious infection that has led to severe kidney failure.

Hero’s BUN levels are 389 — when normal is only 7 to 29. This means his kidneys are in critical condition, and he’s fighting for his life. He had to be hospitalized, receiving IV fluids to flush his kidneys and undergoing 24-hour observation in hopes that his kidneys can begin to function again.

My daughter is a former military service member, now a stay-at-home mother of three young children. Her husband is currently deployed serving our country, and due to the government shutdown, he has not been paid. This unexpected medical emergency has created a financial hardship.

The kids' best friend, their protector when dad is away, and the heartbeat of their home. We’re doing everything we can to save him, but the costs of his emergency treatment and hospital stay were unexpected and are overwhelming.
