Hi everyone, I am reaching out on behalf of a dear friend and a very special pup, Hercules.
Hercules has cancer.
Not just “a” cancer, TWO types of cancer. He has at least one Sarcoma near his spleen and a rare neuroendocrine mass on his adrenal gland. Chemotherapy has been recommended to stall both. There is no cure for either type, but we can extend the quality of life for Hercules with treatment.
Veterinary history on Hercules:
About 2 weeks ago, Hercules suddenly started vomiting, launching a whirlwind week of vet visits, tests, and specialized medical care.
After an initial X-ray, Hercules was referred to the specialists at the Veterinary Specialists of North Texas (VSNT). He underwent an advanced abdominal ultrasound. The imaging revealed three distinct masses: two located behind his spleen and one near his stomach (which explains his recent stomach upset), along with some mildly swollen lymph nodes.
The good news is that the masses are currently not attached to surrounding organs. However, due to their size, surgery is not an option.
The incredible news is that Hercules is a fighter! Vomiting has subsided, his appetite is strong, he is drinking water, and he is resting comfortably at home.
He has started chemotherapy. The Drs have recommended a CT scan but we have decided to wait as we won’t learn much right now. He may need that after a few cycles of chemo.
Why We Need Your Help:
Hercules’ owner does have a Nationwide major medical pet insurance policy, which is going to help immensely. However, insurance requires paying upfront, involves deductibles, and does not cover 100% of the rapidly mounting specialist fees.
So far, three major medical claims have already been filed across two hospitals: North Texas Veterinary Clinic and VSNT. With a potential chemotherapy roadmap ahead, the out-of-pocket costs, CareCredit balances, and credit card bills are piling up quickly.
We are not looking to profit—the sole goal of this fundraiser is to make Hercules' family whole, pay off the medical credit lines used for his emergency care, and ensure he can seamlessly start his cancer treatments next week without financial delays.
How You Can Support:
If you can donate even a few dollars to help cover the gaps that insurance leaves behind, it will go directly toward Hercules’ veterinary debt and upcoming chemo sessions. If you cannot donate, please share his story.
