The fluffy teddy bear of a dog, Henry, who loves everyone he meets and is loved by all,

has unfortunately been going through some medical turmoil. Henry is my mom’s 2nd

service dog and has an active working relationship. Henry has been adored in every

office these two have worked in. The vet believe that the issue lies within his prostate; a

simple neuter won't resolve this. There will need to be testing done along with meds,

followed by multiple other medical procedures, which won't be cheap. Henry has

insurance but neutering at his age is not covered by his policy and my mom must pay

out of pocket then wait for reimbursements for other procedures. My mom has

investigated low income options and all places have told her due to his age it is not

recommended to use their services. Henry’s vet also has a working service dog and

knows the importance of Henrys health to keep my mom healthy. Henry’s behavior

has been progressively getting worse, including having accidents in the house,

reduced appetite, and other out of character behaviors.

Without this treatment, Henry would likely have to retire as a service dog and be put to

rest much sooner than he should. His vet feels we have caught issues early but need to

act as quickly as possible to identify if there is cancer present and stop it from spreading

if there is.

Henry is one of those old soul dogs that brings joy to every room he is in, greeting

everyone with a hug and a few kisses. He loves snuggles and loves making everyone's

day better.
