Save Hector's Eyesight
Tax deductible
Hector Soto, our friend and founder of the Voz Que Clama Mission in Costa Rica, is losing his eyesight because of a benign tumor in the pituitary gland. Due to Costa Rica's health care system and the recent COVID-19 crisis, today, a year and a half after this diagnosis, he continues to wait for a surgery date.
In December 2018, medical tests revealed that the tumor had limited his visual field by 35%. He immediately started the medical process within the public health care system, where he was placed on a waiting list for the surgery.
Today, Hector has lost more than 80% of his sight in his right eye and the tumor is starting to affect his left eye. The tumor is also compromising very important arteries at the base of his brain.
In March 2020, due to COVID-19, Costa Rican public hospitals discontinued all surgeries. Today, Hector is forced to use the services of the private hospital, Clinica Catolica at the cost of $27,000 USD. He is scheduled for surgery on July 7, 2020 at 4:00pm.
The hospital requires an initial payment of $10,000 USD which is due by June 30, 2020. The balance of $17,000 USD must be paid at the time of discharge.
His family and friends are rallying behind him to support him at this very critical time. We need your help! Please give generously.
We are praying for a miracle and for God’s provision. We are reaching out to those who know and value Hector. Any donation would be a true blessing.
You may donate via GoFundMe, or by mailing a check made out to ‘Mission Voz Que Clama’. All donations are tax deductible.
