Save Hatem's Heart!

My name is Ammar Asref and I am fund raising to pay for an urgent medical surgery for my older brother Hatem. He is 52, lives in Jordan, and a father of 5 kids: Yaser 18, Wissam 16, Farah 11, and the twin Jana/Nada 7. 

 

Hatem was born with a hole between the ventricles of his heart (Ventricular Septal Defect). At the age of 7, he had an open-heart surgery to repair it. Recently, he developed a heart condition where the ventricles will be out of sync causing the heart to beat dangerously fast and potentially leading to sudden cardiac arrest. Defibrillation (electric shock to the heart) must be performed to avoid death in minutes. Unfortunately for Hatem, a hard sneeze or cough may trigger this condition. Doctors recommended an IMMEDIATE CRT-D implant to detect the condition and shock both ventricles to re-synchronize them into a normal heartbeat (How CRT-D Device Work).

 

The CRT-D device is extremely expensive, and the medical procedure in Jordan is estimated to cost over $20,000 not including any medical cost to manage his condition after the surgery. Time is of the essence for Hatem!! I am appealing for your help to fund the surgery ASAP.
