Save Hartmann Family Heritage in Waconia
Donation protected
Hello, I'm Mitchell Hall. I'm asking for your help to preserve history from the late 1800s. Alyssa Hartmann, my future wife, has been so eager to find out information about her ancestors' history in Waconia, MN, that we went to several places and found information that helped us but also hit a roadblock. The Hartmann Family settled in the Waconia/Laketown area starting in the 1800s and farmed many acres. The Hartmann families were very well respected, which is why one street is named after the Hartmanns, called 'Hartmann Drive.' Part of the roadblock is that we found two original Hartmann properties that are still intact and have not been developed... yet. The other part of the roadblock is the county is talking about putting a road through these properties and tearing down what's left of the farm buildings... the original house has been torn down recently. The land is privately owned, and we are looking to preserve what started the Hartmann family but also started Waconia/Laketown, as the Hartmann Family was loved, well respected, and also served on the Waconia Fire Department. There are buildings like a Gable Shed and a Gambrel Barn that we'd love to preserve, possibly restore, possibly take down/move, and save from being torn down, along with other buildings as well. Any money is greatly appreciated. I love history, and I love preserving it, and I'd like to help my future wife have one of her dreams come true and keep the Hartmann name alive and strong!
It's not just a name, it's not just a farm or a barn, it's a legacy!
Thank you!
