Harrison is a good boy and the best friend and doggo we could ask for.
Harrison developed a lump on his rump last August (2019). We took him to the vet right away and they eased our worries and told us it was just a lipoma - fat - nothing to worry about! Fast forward, we took our boy for his physical in April and asked them to take a sample just to be safe. The vet once again said it's got to be fat "are we sure we want to spend $200 getting it tested?" We almost didn't. Thank goodness we did.
Harrison's lump is a large mast cell tumor. Cancer.
We headed straight to the specialist who confirmed our worst nightmare. Harrison needs scans, steroids, surgery, then chemo and radiation. The vet is hopeful, though, that with our plan of attack and our good boy's fighting spirit, that we can beat this thing.
The timing? Not great. Harrison gained a hooman in January, his baby sister, Carson. Shortly after Carson's arrival, COVID-19 hit and mom and dad were both laid off. Between us being unemployed, having a newborn, and our best friend getting cancer, it's been a heck of a year. We received the estimated costs of surgery and treatment.. and we're terrified. $10-15K. Yikes. Not a great time for our little family to be out of work.
That's why we're here. Harrison just wants a fighting chance. He just met his best friend and wants to see her grow up. He wants more car rides, long walks, and to explore the world. We're ready to fight for our boy and appreciate anything you can give to allow us to do that.
We appreciate you taking the time to read about our boy, sending good vibes, and sincerely thank you for any donation to help our family.
