Hi, my name is Ale, and this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write.

My dog Hanna is not just my pet — she’s the soul of my home, my best friend, and the one who’s been there through everything. Right now, she’s fighting for her life.

She’s been diagnosed with pyometra, a dangerous infection that can only be cured with emergency surgery. The vet says she’s strong enough to make it, and that with this surgery, she can fully recover and keep living the beautiful life she deserves.

But the surgery costs $10,000, and I just can’t afford that alone.

✨ Hanna isn’t just part of my story — she is my story.

When I moved to the U.S. from Colombia, everything was terrifying. I felt lost, homesick, and alone in a country where nothing felt familiar.

But Hanna was with me.

She crossed borders with me.

She curled up next to me on nights I cried silently missing home.

She gave me warmth, company, and the feeling that no matter how far I was — I was never alone.

She made this new country feel like home. She’s my anchor. My constant. My emotional support when I had no one else.

And now I need help to save her life.

Hola, mi nombre es Ale, y este es uno de los textos más difíciles que he tenido que escribir.

Mi perrita Hanna, que ha estado conmigo durante 13 años, está luchando por su vida.

Fue diagnosticada con piometra, una infección grave en el útero que solo puede tratarse con cirugía de emergencia.

La buena noticia es que los veterinarios creen que, si logra operarse a tiempo, puede recuperarse totalmente.

Hanna es fuerte, sus órganos están bien, y aún tiene energía para vivir muchos momentos más… pero el costo de la cirugía es de $10,000 dólares, y no puedo cubrirlo sola.

Hanna no es solo una mascota, es mi familia.

Cuando me mudé de Colombia a Estados Unidos, dejé todo atrás: mi país, mi gente, mis raíces.

Los primeros meses fueron muy duros. Me sentía perdida, con nostalgia, sola…

Pero Hanna estaba ahí.

Ella fue mi refugio en los días tristes, mi alegría silenciosa en esta nueva tierra.

Hanna me ayudó a transformar un país desconocido en un hogar.

Hoy, yo quiero hacer lo mismo por ella. Quiero salvarla. Quiero que tenga más tiempo para disfrutar la vida que tanto nos ha costado construir juntas.
