Save Hades: Support His Heartworm Treatment

Meet Hades, aka Bubba. I rescued Hades from a shelter in Georgia 5 years ago when he was 8 months old. Shortly after taking him home, he developed kennel cough, and I fought for over a month to keep him alive, comfortable, healthy, and happy. He has been by my side through many ups and downs: living in my car, getting away from an abuser, going through miscarriages, having my first and only child, and watching her grow. He will be 6 this upcoming Christmas. Yes, he was a Christmas puppy. Hades is my soul dog. I can't be away from him for long periods of time, and he can't be away from me for long periods of time (he will refuse to eat, even if he knows the person well).

Lately, he's been having some health issues: lack of energy, cough, heavy breathing during any activity, and throwing up consistently for a week. I took him to the vet yesterday for his annual check-up and shots and raised those concerns. He popped positive for heartworm very quickly. The vet informed me that he is entering stage 3 and has a possibility of stroking out and passing away any day. I was given a quote for treatment. It's a 90-day treatment plan that started yesterday (August 26th). He is on very harsh restrictions and will be on very harsh medications during this 90-day period. He will also have to be on medication for the rest of his life.

I don't like asking for help; however, I will to make sure my fur baby is treated and gets back to being healthy. Altogether, treatment and medication for the next 90 days is going to cost roughly $2,000. I can provide proof if anyone may wish to see it. I am a single mother with little to no help from anyone, so any help will be immensely appreciated. Even just sharing will be helpful. Thank you all in advance for however you can help.

Any and All funds received will be going directly towards the treatment and care for Hades. Updates with receipts will be added throughout his treatment plan. Any extra funds received will be used towards his continued medication. Receipts for any and all of his treatment or continued medication will be given in updates.
