On Monday September 5, we came home from a weekend away to find our most beloved cat Gus acting very strangely. He is an extremely sociable, loud personality, but we found him unmoving and with no desire for food (very weird for this pig boy). After observing him for 24hrs, we took him to the vet to discover he is a very, very sick kitty. He is anemic, and his liver enzyme levels are five times the normal amount. We do not yet know the specifics, but it could be cancer, diabetes, or some kind of poisoning.

Tonight, Sept 6, he was admitted to overnight care at Pembina Animal Hospital. The cost of his initial exam, IV drip and antibiotics has cost us just short of $1000 that we do not have, and this is only the beginning. I can’t believe I live in a world where I have to sweat over the cost of saving the animal that I love to this degree, but this is how it is. We are begging for your help to get us through this financial (BARF) and traumatizing hardship. Anything you can give us goes a long way. We do not know where this will take us, but will keep you all abreast to what happens along the way.

Our goal is $2000 because we have been told to expect to pay at LEAST double what we already have.
