Hey ya’ll, my name is Hayley Dwyer and this is Grizzly. Grizzly is 12 years old and my family and I are currently trying to save up money to be able to pay for his medical bills that come later on.

For the last year and a half Grizzly has had this lump near his rectum that has only grown in size and has pushed his tail to the side and make it diagonal. It has not affected him physically in any way and he still acts normal but we noticed he was having some issues going to the bathroom. We’ve taken him in atleast 5 times within the year to get it checked and they told us to not worry. Fast forward to now we end up getting told that something should’ve been done sooner and we go to an oncologist. The reason being is because the vet honestly thought it was cancer and a malignant tumor just like we all did. They run a CT scan at a later date and find that thankfully it is not a malignant tumor. But, would need to be surgically removed which is fairly expensive as well.

Unfortunately they did find a malignant tumor near a blood vessel in his abdomen that has blockage of over 80%. This tumor and the benign lump are two totally seperate issues but just as equally as important. With this tumor, we would need to do radiation treatment which is fairly expensive. Without treatment to both of these he will not only have a poor quality of life but will also be at risk of long term issues, complications and could risk dying from these issues not being handled. These procedures are at risk of complications but being able to do both would be very vital to his life and we don’t want to see our fur baby leave like this nor live the rest of his life suffering.
