Grizz is a 4-year-old micro mini doodle who was born with Megaesophagus. He was rescued from being euthanized at 6 weeks old. He leads a happy and playful life with his family. Grizz is able to live a normal life, despite being hand-fed twice a day. He has to eat sitting upright so gravity can help his food go down. The disease can cause him to aspirate, which at times can lead to pneumonia. On 2/7/25 Grizz was diagnosed with pneumonia, which has been treated with 3 different antibiotics, daily nebulizer treatments, and hospitalization. The x-rays still show the right middle lung lobe having very dense consolidation of pneumonia. He needs a lung lobectomy in order to live his best life. Without donations, the cost of surgery is out of reach for me, as a single mother. Grizz is not only a member of our family, but he is my 16-year-old daughters soul dog. We would greatly appreciate any donations you can provide. The surgery will be performed by Dr. Jesse Terry at MedVet Northern Utah in Sunset, UT at the end of April 2025. If you have any questions about the surgery, you can contact Jenny/Surgery Coordinator for Dr. Terry at MedVet Clinic. There are 3 ways to donate: donate here at GoFundMe, venmo (@Kristen-Freeman-60), or call MedVet directly to make a payment to the account of Grizz Freeman.
