Hi. We are Tim Reidy and Meghan Larsen-Reidy. We live near Rockwood Avenue and are deeply invested in saving the 5-acre parcel of greenspace at 934 Rockwood Avenue. This space contains undeveloped forest, perennial streams, and is a habitat for many species of birds and other wildlife. We were able to purchase the property on October 7th (HOORAY!!!), and are now committed to making it accessible to the public and to keeping it green forever. We dream that one day it could be home to trails, benches, and even a dog park that would be free and open to everyone. The woods are located in Castle Shannon, and border Mt. Lebanon on two sides.

Now that we have secured the property, we will still need a significant amount of funding to make the site usable to the public, including forming the 501c3 to own and manage it, conducting a Phase 1 Environmental Assessment, installing new signage, building trails, setting dog park fencing and amenities, restoring the stream embankments, and maintaining the trees and forest long-term. We are hoping to apply for grant funding to help with many of these efforts, but will still need private donations for funding. All donated funds will go directly to the park. Nobody managing the GoFundMe or the future 501c3 will receive any compensation. We are all working on a volunteer basis.

In full transparency, the money from this GoFundMe site will temporarily be deposited into a private bank account under Tim Reidy's name. specifically created for this fundraising effort. Then, once we have formed the 501c3, we will create a bank account under the 501c3 and transfer all of the funds to the new account. The name of the park and the 501c3 are still to be determined.
