We are being evicted from our location of thirteen years by the landowner corporation and allied commercial landscape company whose owners are partners of same. In other words they rent to them selves. Over the last year they have made increasingly burdensome financial demands. We have met these. This has been coupled with increased hostility, petty and vindictive acts. The final ,and we believe deal breaking, demand is to sign a new lease whereby the multi-million dollar landscape maintenance company annexes nearly one-thousand square feet of prime sales area. Plus the adjacent frontage including vegetable starts display AND half our parking. All this to park couple trailers to expand their office space. So they claim. I declared this last demand “ unfair and unacceptable “ as it would not only destroy the beautiful and uniquely dynamic nursery I’ve created but also severely hinder my ability to scratch an an already difficult living. Their response “Sorry that part’s not negotiable. Effectively removing mediation. They have since posted eviction notices. I’ve retained an attorney to protect what we’ve worked so hard to create. THIS is where YOU CAN HELP! Legal fees  start at $5000 and may reach $12,000. If we close ,there will be only one of the six family run nurseries that once lined Gravenstein Hwy.. If you believe in a community that values and supports the man who plants seeds with his own hands and provides the plants and knowledge so we can  all put food on our tables, then please help. If not, then come on down to Greenman Nursery and I’ll have my wife school you. If we move, there will be a big sale in October. If not,a big party! We’ll probably have the party anyway but, it’ll be BYO! All kidding aside , our work is a labor of love. We love living here in west Sonoma with all it’s beauty and diversity.
