Hey! I’m Luis, the owner of Great Plates.

You may or may not know me you may or may not know my background story however I will post a link to the background of Great Plates. However to make a extremely long story short I’m 29 years old and I initially started this restaurant from absolutely nothing and built it from the ground up with absolutely no experience no investors No loans no staff all I had was myself and a dream.

In 2018 I was released from prison with a record that would hinder me from success so I decided to start my own business in the food industry being that that is some thing likes gift that I was blessed with.

getting to where I am now from the outside looking in it looks as if Great Plates is extremely established however it is the furthest thing from there. There’s so much room for improvement there’s so much room for growth there’s so much room for so much however we like the proper resources we like the proper help.

I now have the wisdom and experience to operate and manage the restaurant properly however each time that the restaurant is on a good foot something gets in the way of its progress and because we’re an extremely small business and it’s being ran entirely by one person, one person again without the proper resources without the proper financials just determination self motivation and enough perseverance to keep the ball rolling.

In today’s issue one of my employees decided to quit following corrective action and decided to hack the business account the POS system and locked is completely out in a drastic time that we needed the POS and the business account the most. That landed the entire business in a very bad position in a position where we will more likely be forced to close because the expenses have started to overflow before we got the chance to get a new POS system and get the immediate bills handled.

Mentally I, as a business owner wanted to let it all go because it seems as though each time I am up something knocks me down however I realize now that this is how entrepreneur ship is this is how business is and nothing good comes easy. In times like these it’s key to remember why you started in the first place and it’s key to remind yourself of why you should continue on and I have many people behind me telling me to not quit and that this is just another chapter in the book so I decided to put this go fund me together for anyone who decides to donate for anyone who feels as though I shouldn’t give up for anyone who feels as if they just want to help the cause for whatever reason here is your opportunity. It’s not often that I reach out to the community for help I’m used to doing literally everything on my own however everything can’t be accomplished on my own and I understand that. This is year three that I’ve been out of prison and year three at this attempt to further this business I’ve worked literally every day for the past two years with the exception of maybe 30 days collectively, so there is so much work that has been put into this operation and I really don’t want to see it deplete however I’ve done everything physically possible to hold everything together but being that I am the bread butter and the plate holding everything up it’s getting a little overbearing and a little overwhelming and I can humbly say I could use the help but I can no longer move forward with this entire operation with the lack of resources and help.

Although there is much more than $6000 in expenses that need to be paid the $6000 will definitely put us in a better situation than we are now and will stop us from closing and give us the opportunity to go back to the drawing board and do these things the proper way.
