Hi everyone — I never thought I’d be making one of these, and honestly, I’m embarrassed to even ask for help. But we’re in the middle of an emergency with our sweet dog Grayson, and the medical bills are quickly becoming overwhelming.
Two days ago, I got out of the shower and noticed blood where Grayson had been laying. We rushed him to urgent care, and as soon as we walked in, he started vomiting blood everywhere. It was horrifying. The vets moved quickly to stabilize him, got him on oxygen and monitors, and initially suspected a possible reaction to a bee sting. He stayed under observation, and we were sent home.
Later that evening, we went back to pick him up—and just as we were leaving the clinic, he suddenly threw up what seemed like half a gallon of blood all over their lobby floor. It was one of the scariest moments of my life. They ran emergency X-rays, stabilized him again, and asked us to bring him back for further care in the morning.
Then last night, things got worse. Grayson began passing blood multiple times throughout the house. We brought him back to the vet first thing this morning, and they admitted him again for treatment.
Today, we finally got some answers. The internal bleeding was caused by a severe reaction to the flea and tick medication he was given last Monday. We’ve now been transferred to MedVet Emergency Hospital, where he’s being treated by specialists working to stop the bleeding and keep him stable.
Grayson is still fighting. He’s wagging his tail. You can see in his eyes—he’s not ready to give up. And we’re not giving up on him either.
Unfortunately, the costs of emergency care, hospitalization, and specialist treatment are growing rapidly. We’ve already spent thousands just trying to get him stable, and the expenses keep climbing.
If you’re able to help in any way—whether it’s by donating, sharing this, or just sending a prayer—please know how much it means. Every little bit helps, and we are deeply grateful for your support during this terrifying time.
Thank you so much for caring about Grayson.
