Help Keep Gossip Open: A Community Fundraiser
Gossip has been more than a bar. For many in Uniontown and the surrounding area, it has been a consistent, welcoming space to gather, celebrate, and feel safe. We have worked hard to build a place that is inclusive, community-driven, and respectful of everyone who walks through the doors.
Recently, we announced that Gossip would be closing due to ongoing financial strain. The response from the community was overwhelming. On the night we shared that announcement, more than 200 people came through our doors, and many asked us to try one more time to keep the bar open. We heard you, and we are making one final effort to stabilize the business and continue serving the community.
What happened
Like many small businesses, we have been hit by rising costs across the board—utilities, supplies, inventory, insurance, and day-to-day operating expenses. At the same time, consumer spending has slowed, and the margins that keep small venues alive have become thinner and thinner.
Even with careful budgeting and personal sacrifice, the financial gap has grown to a point where we cannot continue without additional support.
A path forward
We have spoken with our landlord, and we are grateful that they are willing to work with us to give Gossip an opportunity to stay open. However, to move forward responsibly, we need immediate help to catch up, restock, and make necessary changes that support long-term stability.
How the funds will be used
Funds raised through this GoFundMe will be used for:
* Outstanding bills and critical operating expenses
* Restocking inventory and essential supplies
* Business improvements and changes needed to run more sustainably
* Costs related to strengthening a safe, respectful environment for staff, performers, and guests
Accountability and transparency
All funds will be managed by Mama Morgan, and we are committed to transparency. We will provide updates on the amount raised and how funds are allocated so donors can see the impact of their support.
Join us in person: January 24, 2026
We are also holding an in-person fundraiser and community meeting:
Saturday, January 24, 2026
Doors open at 6:00 PM
No cover (donations will be requested)
We will be collecting donations at the bar throughout the night as well.
At 7:00 PM, we will host a Community Town Hall to hear directly from you—what you want, need, and expect from Gossip moving forward. The Town Hall will be led by Dillon Spencer, Relay for Life National Director of Community Fundraising.
How you can help
If Gossip has ever been a place you enjoyed, relied on, or valued as a safe community space, please consider donating and sharing this fundraiser. Every contribution—no matter the size—helps us bridge the gap and gives this business a real chance to continue.
Thank you for supporting local business, local community, and a space that has meant so much to so many.
