Save Goodfillas Cafe from closing.
Hi my name is Cathleen, and I am trying to save my Cafe from closing due to BCC, TFWM and Alexander Stadium.
In May 2021 they started road works for the Commonwealth Games which the road works lasted 14 months my business suffered, as I lost most of my footfall due to road works and red lines outside my cafe for the sprinter buses.
I have complained about these double red lines to BCC, TFWM as my customers have no where to park and have taken the park and car park away.
After the games they decided to resurface the Walsall road again, then February this year 2023 they decided to resurface the road again wasting tax payers money and disrupting my business yet again but my business haven't recovered since due to these red lines.
BCC, TFWM, Alexander stadium are not prepared to help me even though the have ruin my business ive contacted the the local papers, BBC, radio, Birmingham live and now my customers and local residents are suffering as I'm forcing to close as I can't fund my business as I have used all my life saving, also all the money I have borrowed £60,000.
The local residents have protested outside my cafe as they don't want me to close as they depend on me, the elderly residents are upset and angry because this is the only cafe they can walk to I've tried so hard to keep my cafe open I've suffered myself.
The locals and residents congregate at the cafe for a chat and have there breakfast, they have local meetings with the church, and its some where for them to go and get out the house and keep warm as they can't go anywhere else, and to take that away from the residents is a disgraceful on BCC, TFWM, Alexander Stadiumas they are not prepared to help, so I'm asking for you all to help, as my residents need me, I love my customers and residents and I don't want to let them down as they rely on me for a warm space thank you.
