Gerard Jimenez is the youngest brother of my bestfriend Leslie Jimenez, both currently residing in the Philippines. Gerard is 20yo studying at San Beda University to be an IT professional. He has been a great friend to many people and touched many along the way with his kindness and giving attitude. While working very hard to create a promising future for himself and his family, unfortunately a couple of weeks ago he became really sick. He was rushed into the hospital with typhoid fever however the infection has gotten worst and he is now in the ICU and diagnosed with TB Meningitis, a life-threatening infectious disease which causes inflammation of the membranes surrounding the brain and the spinal cord.

Its a very difficult time for his family, trying to save Gerard’s life and gathering the funds to cover the medical costs as there really is no health insurance system to cover for devastating catastrophic illness  like this in the Philippines.

In all my years I have personally known the family they have never asked for help and have always put others before them on many occasions. After offering so much help to others in need, I feel it is fair they are repaid in kind in their time of need.

In this situation I am asking for your help and support to help save Gerard’s life and eliviate the stress as well as the financial burden this journey is taking on the family. Please know any amount of donation regardless of size helps them greatly in this difficult time and uncertainty.

I am more than happy and willing to answer any further questions about his condition and update his progress in recovery.
