Help us get life-saving care for our precious cat, Georgie!
Over the last month, our cat, Georgie, has needed increasing care for an unknown illness in her liver. She's had two expensive trips to the ER and another expensive trip to her regular vet for testing. We don't know what her diagnosis is and will be getting more testing done in the next few weeks. Georgie is only 6 years old and is a light and joy in our lives every day.
Funds will be used for upcoming testing, to pay off hospital stays, for her medications, and any other care items she needs during this time.
Currently costs look like this:
- $2500 for her first round of testing and visit to her regular vet
- $350 for her first round of medication and first visit to the ER
- $500 for her second round of medication, second visit to ER, and more initial testing
- $1700-2400 for her upcoming ultrasound, more bloodwork, and a brief hospital stay
- Unknown future costs; but we confirmed with the vet that this round of testing will not be enough for her full care and diagnosis.
Obviously, the cost is already well above the $5000 mark.
My partner and I are in a tough financial situation. I have been unemployed, unable to find a steady full-time job, for months. We've been relying on one income and any small jobs I can take along the way, while living in one of the most expensive cities in the country. Our credit cards are maxed out, our savings wiped clean, and we don't have access to funds to give Georgie the care she needs.
We know people are struggling financially right now. Jobs are tight, there are mass layoffs, and most people are in tough economic situations. Even $5 helps us. If 20 people gave $5, it would cover the cost of one of her medications.
