Save George's Life - Time is Running Out (Updated)

George has always been full of hope and positivity. He is one of the most understanding, genuinely compassionate, and loving people we know, who is always willing to help as much as he can when you need it. He is incredibly talented, and our family often enjoys seeing him play his guitar with a smile on his face.

 

After graduating in the Philippines in Electronics Engineering Technology, he married the love of his life. They worked tirelessly so that they could eventually one day afford a house of their own, where they planned to share the rest of their lives together.

 

 

 

In August 2021, we found out that George was diagnosed with Tongue Cancer (Squamous Cell Carcinoma).

 

We were devastated to hear the news, and with his immune system being low, it became much worse as he tested positive for COVID-19, delaying the possibility of treatment.

 

Luckily at the end of September, he survived COVID-19, and his surgery to remove the cancer was successful. Immediately followed by 35 days of radiation therapy, George tested positive for COVID-19 once again, and his radiotherapy sessions had to be paused. It became overwhelming with so many delays, and our family was constantly praying for him and helping out as much as we could.

 

Unfortunately, things became much worse in March 2022 when he began to experience excruciating, persistent pain and swelling on his face. With further testing, cancerous cells were detected on his lymph nodes affecting the right side of his face, as well as the flooring of his mouth and neck. He now has Progressive Stage 4 Cancer. George and our entire family were heartbroken to hear the news, beginning to lose hope.

 

As a result, we will need to do all we can to extend his life. He currently needs to undergo 8 months of Chemotherapy, which has already started last month in May and will continue for several more months.

 

George has been unable to work and will likely not be able to return until he recovers from cancer. With limited funds as his health insurance does not fully cover medical expenses (such as chemotherapy, laboratory tests, doctors' fees and more), along with the basic, daily necessities of life (food, shelter, transportation especially to and from the hospital, etc.) money is getting tighter and tighter.

 

Despite our entire family's combined efforts, it was at that point that we realized we needed help from the people around us.

 

We are fundraising to help George and his family afford ongoing medical bills and basic needs so he can continue receiving life-saving treatment and go back to inspiring others with his music compositions, being an active leader of the church ministry and good servant of God, being a Praise and Worship Team Coordinator, Church Elder, Cell Group Leader and overall experiencing the life he loves with the people who love him.

 

George and his family have a long road ahead of them, and everything we can do to help and surround him with love is what is most important so he can focus on overcoming this serious illness.
