Save Fundo Farm Panguilemu
Donation protected

At present, Jose and Lizzie and their family are facing a dire financial emergency. This stems from the originating bank loan structure and not from farm operations or their stewardship. The very existence of the farm hangs in the balance. They are in an extreme financial crisis and presently the farm is facing foreclosure/auction within 60 days. This set of circumstances has compelled us to reach out to you and together seek a solution, which will preserve the farm. Therefore, we are inviting people who are willing to be a part of the solution. We are appealing for champions to support this fundraiser!
Fundo Panguilemu in Patagonia, Chile, is a breathtaking farm bordering the shores of the Rio Simpson and is an ideal place for every form of life. The streams and rivers run abundant clear water, full of fish and life. Biodiversity, at all levels continually increases. The land captures tons of carbon, a remedy for climate change. The forests and pastures are astonishingly healthy. Animals live productive, healthy and happy stress-free lives. Jose and Lizzie together inspire, educate others and give back to the land and community.

This farm and community is a lighthouse inspiring people through organic holistic management practices, showing that it is possible to have a good business, produce healthy food, increase biodiversity, respect all life forms, share the magnificence of nature, and preserve local culture.

In the Regenerative Agriculture Movement worldwide there is a big piece missing, the necessary financial support. There is no way to scale the very necessary changes if we don’t find a way to give the necessary financial support to these pioneer regenerative farmers and entrepreneurs.

Jose and Lizzie Gortazar, a husband and wife team, purchased Fundo Panguilemu in 2013. They transitioned their 2,629 acre farm from a desertified state in Patagonia to a rich, diverse and vibrant ecosystem through holistic cattle and sheep grazing practices. They raise their animals with consciousness and kindness. They have organic greenhouse gardens and have created a "land to market" movement in their nearest city of Coyhaique. They've built several yurts to support conscious ecotourism with yoga, farm-fresh meals and unique agri-business tourism experiences such as horse riding, hiking, farm tours, etc. They are also teaching educational workshops to instruct new ways of doing farming through organic holistic management practices and regenerative agriculture.

Again, the financial solution will not come from the financial establishment. If not, then from where?
From people like you, people with open hearts, the right values and wisdom. People who choose to contribute their money to support a holistic regenerative project, and promote a measurable ecological and social change as well.

As a champion donor, you are helping us reach our goal of $900,000 dollars. This will not only stop foreclosure and auction, but pay off a portion of the bank mortgage, which will allow time for implementation of a plan to support a long-term solution for the preservation and growth of the farm.
