Help Save Fry — Our Sweet, Goofy Family Dog

Our hearts are breaking as we write this. Our beloved dog, Fry, has suddenly become very sick. Fry will be 3 years old this coming January — still so young, full of life, love, and his signature goofy energy. Just weeks ago, he was bouncing around the house like his usual happy self. Now, he’s fighting for his life.

For the past month, Lorissa has known something wasn’t right. Fry stopped eating and sleeping normally, and his behavior changed in ways that worried her deeply. This has led to multiple vet visits, including one where they had to drain fluid from his lungs. Unfortunately, their concerns were initially dismissed, and it wasn’t until about two weeks ago that they finally received a diagnosis: Chylothorax, a serious lymphatic disorder that causes fluid to build up in the chest cavity.

The only way to save Fry is through specialized surgery, which the veterinary team has quoted at $15,000. While their pet insurance will help, it only covers $2,500 — leaving a crushing financial gap. After weeks of vet bills and ongoing treatments, Lorissa and her family are completely tapped financially.

Fry isn’t just a dog — he’s family. He has been a steady, loving presence for Lorissa, her husband Chris, and their 9-year-old son, Carter.
