Zainab and Fatima, two sisters from Gaza, desperately need your help to save their mother’s eyesight.

The story begins a couple of days ago. After praying at my local mosque in Watford, I notice two women and a child waiting outside the mosque. They notice me, say something in Arabic and I make out the word "Gaza". One of the women holds out their phone with a picture of her ID.

Slightly taken aback, I sheepishly walk past them. I cannot describe the shame I felt as I walked by them with my "Free Palestine" jumper I had bought at a protest.

Returning back to the mosque for the next prayer still wearing my "Free Palestine" (and after a pep talk from my wife) I vowed to help these people in any way I can. As I'm sure everyone knows, the Palestinians have been through so much in the past 75 years.

After some clunky Google Translate conversation, the two ladies are sisters, Zainab and Fatima, with the latter carrying the cutest little boy called Noor. Here is my, and now your, opportunity to directly help someone who has been displaced by the Israeli occupation of Palestine.

Zainab and Fatima have a mother still in Gaza, Fatima Abdul Rahman Muhammad Al-Ali, who is in desperate need of an eye operation. If she does not get this operation, she is at real risk of losing her eyesight.

Zainab and Fatima have practically nothing in their possession and without the ability to speak English are ill equipped to raise the funds to save their mother's eyesight. We have all heard the horror stories of people in Gaza but more so the people with disabilities in Gaza such as the heart breaking story of Muhammed Bhar.

Through Google Translate and WhatsApp I understand that they have a Jordanian contact in Occupied Palestine who can get the funds to her mother and get her the medical attention she so desperately needs.

Any help you can provide, however small, would be greatly appreciated.
