Save Family of 6 from homelessness

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Vanessa and a journalist. I am asking for help on behalf of my sister-in-law Brenda and brother Abel Nevarez who have fallen on hard times right as the pandemic is lifting. I ask you to find it in your heart and remember when someone helped you when you needed it and please donate what you can or please share this link.
The family of six including Noa 8, Rocco 10, Vidal 14, Isabella 16, Abel and Brenda were given a 60-day notice on March 1, 2022, to vacate because the owner was selling the property. The have days to find a place or be homeless.

THE SITUATION:
They have been looking for a home for 3 months! Just as many families experienced financial hardship due to COVID. Last year, The Nevarez family of 6 had their hours reduced due to COVID, loss of wages and hospital bills from their child being gravely sick in the hospital for months. They got behind on payments ultimately it affected their credit score. And with each time they apply to a home their credit score goes further down.

This is a vicious cycle affecting mainly communities of color. I checked for government resources and they don’t have programs helping middle class families on the verge of being homeless because of a credit score and not because they can’t pay.

Although Abel is a Sales Rep and Brenda works in patient healthcare admitting--- it doesn’t compete with San Diego’s rising rents, first month’s deposits and aggressive rental market.
Rent has increased 31% for a three bedroom in Chula Vista in the last year. Many families are in this situation...on the verge of being homeless. But this is a family with young children with two being immunocompromised that is making the situation dire. Both my nephews Rocco 10 and Vidal 14 were diagnosed with an immunodeficiency disease last year and Isabella 16 was diagnosed with anxiety during the pandemic. Hospital bills and medication are financially hard on the family too.

CALL TO ACTION:
If you find it in your heart, please donate what you can. This fundraiser would absolutely help them pay for the $6,000 before May 13th for deposit, first month and last month’s rent on a possible home they found. It would keep my family out of hotels and Airbnbs and allow my brother and his wife to focus on the children’s medical needs. Anything that you can contribute would be immensely appreciated.
