Help Keep My Brothers Doors Open
COVID-19 has destroyed so many things this year, let’s not let it destroy a lifetime of hard work. I am Lisa Navarro and my brother is the owner of Exit 13 Lounge. It is a trendy new hotspot located at 1547 Arthur Kill Road, Staten Island. The lounge offers delicious bar food, theme nights, a VIP section, and party reservations. The grand opening was on March 14, 2020, with news of the pandemic looming, not many people attended. With the quarantine in full effect, on March 16th, it began food deliveries, which lasted for two weeks. They were forced to close. Months later with the quarantine lifted they reopened for outdoor dining. While this was good news, dining in a parking lot was not appealing. A deck was built with love by family and friends to entice customers to enjoy their outdoor dining experience. A tent was placed on top but was destroyed three weeks later by a storm. Without the funds to replace the tent they have been forced to use their indoor space but at 25% capacity they are not earning enough revenue to pay bills.
As a new business, Exit 13 Lounge was ineligible to receive any government funding. Exit 13 Lounge is the dream of my brother Andres Navarro, a life long New Yorker who used his entire life savings to reach this point. He is devoted to Staten Island and his customers. The lounge is a family run minority owned business. Andres Navarro and Sienna Artis, maintain the day to day operations while raising a one year old baby boy together. Indoor dining has now been shut down and with no timeline to reopen, they may not survive. The goal is to continue to serve Staten Island through Exit 13 Lounge by keeping the doors open. Please consider donating to our cause. All funds will be used to keep Exit 13 Lounge open and give the community a new place to create new memories. “When you support small business, you support a dream.” Thank you in advance for helping us to keep my brothers dream alive.
