Help Eska: Donate for Her Medical Care

We are raising funds to help pay for our baby Eska's medical bills, which have quickly risen over the last week and completely maxed out our finances.

Eska had to be hospitalized after a sock she ate hooked into her stomach. Saturday, she was seen at the emergency vet clinic, where she was admitted and had specialty surgery to remove the sock that was hooked in her stomach and her GI tract. The next evening (Sunday), we were permitted to take her home, but upon arriving home, we quickly realized something was wrong. Eska seemed very dull and non-responsive and was only moving her eyes, while her ears and paws were cold due to blood pressure issues.

We quickly rushed her back after only an hour, and she was readmitted for for low blood pressure, signs of shock, dehydration, a fluid in her stomach, and concerningly low blood protein levels. Monday, we were advised that while they had gotten her blood pressure to level out, it had dropped again, and they had to increase her pain medication. The fluid was tested multiple times and showed no bacteria, but she had not improved. We decided to proceed with another night of hospitalization, an albumin transfusion to raise her blood protein levels, and a planned ultrasound for the next day.

This morning, we got the great news that she had finally started to eat the chicken that was offered to her, but the good news did not last when they called us a few hours later to tell us her blood pressure was still dropping despite being on two blood pressure medications and that they felt it imperative to skip the ultrasound and go straight into surgery urgently as something is wrong.

At this point, between her first surgery, the hospitalization, and additional services, we have accrued $20,000 in medical bills, and as of typing this, she is heading into surgery and will be hospitalized for another night for $12,000, bringing us up to $32,000 in medical bills for Eska and possibly more.

She is only one year old, loves to sunbathe, play tug with her siblings, and cuddle, and has so much life ahead of her, but at this point, we have drained our savings, maxed our credit cards and loan options, and need help.
