One day soon, insha'Allah, she won't have to watch helplessly. She'll watch him run. But only with your help.
In a small, rural village in Bangladesh, 8-year-old Sheikh Ershad should be running through the fields with his friends. Instead, he sits in the shadows, gasping for air. His fingernails and lips are turning blue—a terrifying sign that his heart is failing to pump oxygen to his body.
When asked what he wants to do when he gets better, Ershad quietly said: "I just want to run."
Ershad was born with Tetralogy of Fallot , a complex combination of four heart defects. A massive 16mm hole in his heart is causing "blue" and "red" blood to mix, starving his organs of the oxygen they need to survive. His latest medical scans show a "Severe" blockage.
Doctors have been clear: Without immediate open-heart surgery, Ershad’s heart will simply stop.
Ershad's doctors say surgery must happen before April. With Ramadan ending on 17 March, this is our window.

A Family with No Choice
Ershad is an only son. His parents are trapped in extreme poverty with no land to sell, no assets, and no income. They live day-to-day in a small village, and the cost of saving their son is a mountain they cannot climb alone.
They have no wealthy relatives to turn to. You are their only hope.

This Ramadan, as we seek the mercy of Allah, imagine the mercy of saving a life. In the Quran, it is said: "And whoever saves a life, it is as if he had saved mankind entirely" (5:32).
