Save Embassy Theatre: Preserve Our Cultural Gem

Hello... I'm Don, the Secretary/Treasurer of Embassy Theatre Corporation, and the heartbeat of local entertainment. I've been involved with Embassy Theatre (a 501(c)(3) non-profit) since 2015 - the beginning of this corporation. We have enjoyed a wonderful relationship with our community in Cumberland, MD, including our sponsors, funding sources, our patrons and supporters, and our volunteers. We appreciate their committed involvement in making us the busiest entertainment venue in our Tri-State area.

At this time, we are struggling with a turn of events that impacts us and our community. The historic 1931 Embassy Theatre building has been listed for sale. This is devastating news to our entertainment business, to our community, and the amazing live performance talent that has graced our stage. We are seeking to generate enough funds for the Corporation to purchase the building and preserve it for generations to come. Since we are a non-profit 501(c)(3), it is virtually impossible to secure funding from established financial institutions. We are pleading with all that enjoy live entertainment to help us in this endeavor.
