Save Elle: Support Her Recovery

Hi, for most of you who don’t know, this is our dog Elle. We rescued Elle from a difficult/horrible situation 3years ago She is the most loving, funny & best dog there can be. She loves to play with her toys, play with her sister, and lie around being lazy. She loves cuddles and giving everyone kisses. She’s our miss wigglebutts.

Unfortunately, yesterday evening, we let our fat girl out to go to the bathroom and realized that when she came back in she was bleeding a lot. As we were checkin out where it was coming from we seen that she was bleeding from her private area. At first we thought it was her period (because she isn’t spayed) but it was way too much blood and it was more like a mucus discharge. We called around a few emergency vets. We took her to Hershey emergency vet. They diagnosed her with Pyometra. For those who don’t know Pyometra is an infection in her uterus. It happens to older dogs who have not been spayed. There are two different types of Pyometra. Closed Pyometra, which means that the blood/pus is filling into her uterus and open which in Elle's case means her uterus is open allowing the blood/pus to come out of her. If not treated as soon as possible, her uterus can close and be deadly. We have been calling all around different vets, and they are quoting us close to $3,000 for her surgery. It cost $400 just for her to be seen last night and and we as her mommas know money is tight for everyone, but right now we anre asking for a little bit of help, anything donated is extremely & greatly appreciated!
