Save Elizabeth's Eyes

Hi, my name is Meerenai Shim and I'm fundraising for Elizabeth A. Baker's necessary eye surgeries. Elizabeth's retinal vitreous surgery is scheduled for January 10th and we need to raise $5000 to cover the bulk of the doctor's fees for the surgery because the ophthalmologist doesn't take insurance.

Elizabeth is currently going blind in both eyes due to a process of vitreal retinal detachment due to vascular disease. The surgeries are necessary to restore as much of her eyesight as possible and to stop the detachment process from continuing which would lead to complete and total blindness.

Without immediate treatment, Elizabeth will become blind.

Elizabeth is an artistic visionary and a passionate advocate for equity and justice in the field of sound-focused interdisciplinary arts. Elizabeth losing her vision would create a void in the American arts community and the sonic arts industry.

I am a huge supporter of Elizabeth's work through my record label, Aerocade Music, and I consider her to be one of my most influential collaborators. She is an essential voice in the arts community. I am happy to advocate for my good friend and colleague so that she can continue working on projects that require her vision, such as her field recording in remote wildlife areas and video art projects.
