Hi Amigos,
My name is Raymunda Ramírez and I’m the owner of El Faro - We invented the “Super Burrito”. We have been here on 20th & Folsom since 1961.
I have worked here since 1979. I bought El Faro from my good friend Febronio Ontiveros in 2003 -the Founder (RIP).
As a women, in a male dominated burrito world, it’s been extremely tough at times- but I never gave up!
I Love working with my community and always have done my part in helping out anyway I can for the last 6 decades-
The times have been really tough on my little burrito shop - especially since COVID 19. I Lost a lot of business and last year El Faro’s was robbed 4 times, I didn’t give up!
I just had Knee replacement surgery and my Doctors told me - I’ll be out of work a minimum of 3 months.
My problem is the new owners are doubling my rent - A huge increase - I can’t sell those many burritos to cover the increase in rent- I only have 3 employees and I really need them -
I can’t afford the rent at this time and am hoping my community can help me with any type of donation or a prayer. I’m getting really scared -
I don’t want to be evicted and go out like that.
I even called and emailed our Supervisor Jackie Fielder and she never responded.
Please forgive me for asking for help as I don’t know what else to do.
Gracias y Dios los bendiga
